FAQ
To help answer any questions you may have, here is a list of frequently asked questions. If we have not answered your question here, then please contact us.
What is Acquire?
We provide buying services primarily for the catering and hospitality markets. We collectively negotiate supply agreements on behalf of over 2500 companies.
Who uses Acquire?
All types of organisations who run their own food service operations, including schools, hotels, nursing homes, businesses, restaurants and contract caterers.
What will Acquire achieve on my behalf?
Firstly and quite simply an increase in profit due to our exceptional prices on thousands of product lines. But it doesn’t stop there. We constantly review our performance against the market place and consistently negotiate the best price and the best products. Our customer relations team regularly liaises with our clients to ensure they receive the market intelligence required to maximise the benefits of our partnership.
When you become a buying partner with Acquire we will supply you with a personal list of supply partners and their contact details. This information may also be viewed online through our secure client Web portal.
How can I judge what savings I could make?
Our procurement consultants will analyse a representative selection of invoices from agreed commodity groups/suppliers. We then compare these against our supplier database, and report back to you the savings you can make. We always compare like for like, so in most cases your supplier, depot, and even delivery schedule need not change, unless that is what you require!
Is there a cost to me?
There are no “membership” fees or joining charges, and we do not charge for goods purchased through Acquire. Access to our procurement support services costs nothing.
So how do you make your money?
We are paid directly by the suppliers we engage on your behalf. We do not invoice you or charge any fees whatsoever.
What are Acquire PurchasePoints™?
PurchasePoints™ are awarded to most Acquire clients. For every £1 spent via Acquire suppliers points are credited to your account.
Points can be redeemed for a wide range of High Street vouchers and kitchen equipment supply vouchers.
Every month you are sent a PurchasePoints™ Statement stating how many points you have earned in the preceding month and advising you of your running total.
The PurchasePoints™ statement is also a good way for you to make sure that you are on the right account with your suppliers as each Acquire supply partner will be listed on the statement separately.
What is Direct Connection?
Direct Connection is one of the most flexible and cost effective buying arrangements available through Acquire. Direct Connection allows clients to choose and change their own “top lines” on a regular basis. Direct Connection accounts usually qualify for PurchasePoints™.
What is PowerPricing*?
PowerPricing is part of Direct Connection and allows you to choose the lines with the greatest discount! We will monitor your buying and make suggestions as to the products that would be in your interest to PowerPrice. You can PowerPrice up to 35 different lines at any given time.
How does my decision to select an Acquire supplier affect my “Due Diligence” responsibilities?
Acquire only appoints suppliers after they have been assessed within our “Due Diligence” process and satisfied our management team that they are sufficiently capable and responsible to provide consumables and services to our customers. A copy of our due diligence process is available on request.
You just order using your Acquire account number and leave the worry of getting a good deal to us. It will be your responsibility to ensure that any local suppliers you appoint comply with due diligence regulations.
